Frequently asked questions

What is the GSCI?

The Global Sustainable Competitiveness Index rates 192 countries on six dimensions of long-run competitiveness — natural capital, resource efficiency, social capital, intellectual capital, economic sustainability and governance. Methodology lives in the GSCI Portal under Methodology; the underlying data spans 2000–2035.

Is the GSCI a credit rating?

No. The GSCI is a sustainability-based country rating that uses an agency-comparable letter scale (AAA–D, 22 notches) so it can be compared notch-for-notch with conventional sovereign ratings. It is not regulated as a credit rating and should not be used as one; sovereign bond customers use it precisely to see where conventional ratings disagree with the long-run sustainability picture.

How often is the data updated?

The GSCI is an annual index built from authoritative public data (UN, World Bank, OECD and equivalents). Sovereign-bond comparisons refresh on the same cadence. Risk-cascade and scenario outputs re-run when the underlying model regenerates; current vintage is published on the Portal’s Methodology page.

What is included in the Portal?

Country rankings and detail pages, dimension and cluster drill-down, risk evaluation (including industry/perspective explorer and portfolio risk), climate and fiscal stress tests, sovereign bond comparisons, GSCI movers, custom-weighted GSCI builder, benchmarks and a public read-only API + MCP server on Business and Enterprise plans.

Do you offer an API?

Yes. The read-only REST API is at /api/v1 with public OpenAPI and Redoc docs at /api/v1/docs. An MCP server for AI agents is available on the Enterprise plan. Both share one credential core scoped per organization.

How is access managed for my team?

Onboarding is invite-only by design. SolAbility provisions the first organization administrator; they then invite teammates with per-seat roles (owner, admin, analyst, viewer). Single sign-on between the GSCI Portal and the Global Sentiment Monitor is built in for customers who hold both products.

How does billing work?

Invoice and bank transfer (SEPA where available). No credit-card checkout. Annual billing is standard for Business and Enterprise; see Pricing.

Where is the data hosted?

On servers in the European Union (Germany). See our Privacy Policy for the full processor list and GDPR / Swiss FADP framing.
